INCREDIBLE INDIA..

Travel is what most people do and have been doing .Since past, nomads travelled in search of better facilities, civilisations later did to find suitable shelter, even I did, but unlike them, I did for fun of exploring. South India, though in India, is very different from rest of the nation, in what sense erupts the next question..?? Well, it’s the only place where people get up at 5am and shops close down by 8pm, a place where people talk in a complete different language which appears funny, you can’t make out whether they are chatting or abusing, anger management is taught to every child in his mother’s womb, very innocent people.

When I put my big head outside the plane, all came to a hault. My hands went into the pocket and next few minutes till I reached the arrivals I was wiping off the sweat. Its was scorching heat !!!..Driver was waiting, I waved at him, he took my luggage to the car and waited pateintly. On asking he mentioned that he awaited the arrival of “Mr Maheshwari”.For a moment I almost forgot that, Maheshwari is also a first name here. See,that is what it makes it special. After having a quarter north and rest south northern dish I went for sleep.Tomorow was going to be a big day.
A jerky flight to Madurai due to bad weather and the huge quantities of sambar vada and dosa made me feel vomit. I was admiring down the window, a green blanket that covered beautiful protrusions of the Eastern Ghats, dressed with blue strips. A  small city near the sea, amazing, what a beauty but all my impressions  about the city got vanished as it reminded me of Delhi;pollution, crowd and bikers .The huge church, Madurai palace, zoo and railway bridge accompanied me to my hotel. Hotel Germinus was huge ,clean and luxurious. Like a bullet ,I checked in fast and reached my room Switched on the tv and was again rajnikanth creating tornado by shaking his leg.seriuosly south Indians are living in a fascinating world and believe all the “STUNTS” shown.curtains raised and wow!!!! What a view.behind me were the ghats which seem to call me.so I politely accepted their call and went on for a day trip to koidaikanal. The golden quadrilateral seems to be so smooth that the cm’s car ran so fast,I wondered about all those traffic regulation taught to us in school.my river gave way for them,as a mark of respect.a small though chilly hill station and those who have back problems are advised not to take the road, though its  a different case you will have no other way to go.but you will spin round n round on the roads. It’s just too “hilly”

The botanical garden smelled so fresh, plants so green, milk white clouds hiding the green mountains,a silent blanket of chilled winds and me freezing here because I forgot mi sweater.ears were coverd with “woollen caps” unique ones, which later were seen in other parts of the nation.truly, they are innovative.cycling around the lake should have been fun until I realised that the endless track was 5km long.now the cold was getting unbarable for me,I had lunch and was leaving when I met an unknown still known friend, the cm’s “khafilla”.again the car stopped.after he also needs a break, but unlike me he had sweaters.
The huge trees, deep valleys, noisy waterfalls,”desi tea bags”  were what I witnessed again. Awesome is the word. Monkeys on road and it was getting dark. The milestone said 185km.wow!! I didn’t realise that, funny it seemed to me.

Next came a small, religious, coastal and once again hot place 200km from Madurai by road. What the hell???? By road. Again the same story :running coconut trees, merry children and plastic pots. I looked and smiled. Then with astonishment turned back again “plastic water pots??? blue, red yellow ,never seen them before “.peninsular soil is not suitable to make them, and hence “pilashtic” ones. Smelly trucks (fish), loads of tourist buses, beach sand, naval bases, anna-akka in kanjiwaram saarees and wearing jewellery heavier than “bappi da”, uttering chants-prayers and Anna in white “lungis”.welcome to Rameshwaram

Only lungis were allowed in the 54acre temple. Making my way through the crowd with most of them shorter than me in height and  their hair smelling of coconut oil and ‘gajras of mogre’   I bathed  in all the 22 freshwater wells and later finished the ‘pooja’.Marvellous architecture, painting and statues of men with women clothes, just bought a smile on my face. Lunch was nice.bala finds out a nice one.I didn’t realise that I am taking back ‘memories’ that made me laugh and sometimes irritated  when they didn’t  understood my words, stomach full of idlis and vada, camera full of colours of life, eyes with visions of nature’s beauty and how man applied a face pack to it.
Will miss: polite people, temples on every 20m, kaanjivaram saaris, lungis, heat, idlis –vada, obese policemen, boys having fat thighs and wearing shorts munching bananas, desi tea bags and plastic pots

Keep exploring!!! You will enjoy

This world isn't big enough for both of us

(all characters used here has no resemblence ton any person living or dead.its purely a work of fiction)
It’s the world war two, and the world is a deadly place. There’s no one you can trust, on whose shoulder you can cry, none to console you and of course no enjoyment in victory as there is no victory with no survivors. It’s a war after all
Its winter here and heavy snow storms make surviving tougher.  Germany was the centre of all activities. On one side were the German forces battling the alien forces an on the other side they were undergoing a major “pest control operation” within their own frontiers. Trade was on its high, “German blood” against “purification” of the country .children and young adults were given destruction toys, army training schools were set up. A secret service did services against the nation and not for it.the word “trust” lost its meaning and hatred was added to peoples dictionary. You don’t expect any good to exist in a place surrounded by evil, which were possibly for their own origin. But that was how Germany was….

The war was coming to a “unforgettable end”,everyone knew that and so did general Podolsky.describing words such as patriot, dedicated and brave were often  accompanied by words like harsh,insensitive,anti-social,destructive nature etc.he had been the in charge of the auschwitz since the “pest control” began as this is what they called it.he commanded  what the world later called “useless killing”.deporting men, women and children of all ages that belonged to the impure race here and their execution. Those wh vitnessed couldn’t just recall the seen.but general did.he took proud in it.but every man has a weakness, he also might had but no one knew.hs room was as secret as the project he was working on.noone had the access without his permission and everyone followed the orders as that is what they best did.one stormy night the general returns from his duty.he was tired and looked a bit scared, which was an unusual expression on his face.he was fear struck,as if he’s done something that can destroy his life.he was carrying a bag, a huge one.he entered the room ,quickly locked it,peeked through the window and with a sigh of  relief sat on the floor.putting away his fur coat, he unpacked the bag.what he then saw would have put most of us in shock after hearing to his descriptions.
There was a small baby ,blue eyes, curved nose, chubby face with little hair on his head. Oh!! My god. You must be wondering how come that happened, must have been a mistake. The general took him in his arms and kissed him all over his face. He was “crying” .he cried and shouted to his full extent as if expressing the pain he hid within himself. He took the kid in his arms and swirled him in the air, again kissed him and hugged him tightly.
He opened an old trunk, took out a red tshirt and a short which looked like that of a 2 yr kid.he dressed the baby and then took looked nostalgically on a photoframe.he bought the frame closer to the baby, and said “see child, don’t you look the same as he is?”.the baby look astonignly and starts laughing.this brings  a very cute smile on his face and also on the general .he says with affection, “you know boy,Johny was just like you , Sweet and cute .we all were happy until that one day he was sent for extermination just like you were sent here.you caught my eye today, else you would have been lying  amongst those frozen 1.2million.i am not going to let you go. Your not a best, your my boy”
The baby was the generals’ life. He was his joy in this battlefield. His smile made his day and his voice made him forget the screams of the day

“you are not my blood, but I won’t let your blood paint this ground or feed it to these vultures”

“the U.S.A.F strike is expected any moment, you are requested to evacuate the premises as early as possible, burn down offices and shut down the camps, I repeat shut down the camps. Copy that!!!”..

As the above statements were heard by the German officers on protocol radio, explosions began to be heard on the camp. The general ran towards his quarters. He wrapped the baby in a blanket and fled out in the jungle towards a river carrying the baby with him.

“don’t worry, stop crying…..daddy’s gonna make everything alright….”

He reached the bank and handed over “johny” to a boatman.”take him wherever you go and take care of him.he’s a special child.ok??” he told the boatman.he looked at the baby and said

“ hey kid, this world isn’t big enough for both of us…….goodbye”
